Description

These Air Fryer Asian-Glazed Boneless Chicken Thighs are a perfect blend of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors. Marinated in a delicious sauce and air-fried to perfection, they make a quick and flavorful meal that’s sure to impress.

Chicken:

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Marinade:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional for thickening glaze)

Garnish:

  • sliced green onions
  • sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes if using.
  2. Marinate Chicken: Add chicken thighs to the marinade, toss to coat, and marinate for at least 20 minutes or up to 8 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
  4. Cook Chicken: Remove chicken from the marinade and place in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the edges are caramelized.
  5. Prepare Glaze: Meanwhile, pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the simmering sauce to thicken, if desired. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until glossy.
  6. Glaze and Serve: Brush or drizzle the glaze over the cooked chicken. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried veggies for a complete meal.
  • Chicken thighs can also be grilled or baked using the same marinade.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce and ensure hoisin sauce is gluten-free.
