Ingredients
Scale
Burger Patty Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ teaspoon ground paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- â…› teaspoon ground black pepper
Toppings
- 2 tablespoons ketchup (OR BBQ sauce)
- 4 slices cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes on the highest temperature setting to ensure it’s hot and ready for cooking.
- Mix the ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly but gently to keep the meat tender. Do not add ketchup yet.
- Form the patties: Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a roughly 4½-inch patty, making a shallow indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent excessive shrinkage during cooking.
- Prepare the patties for air frying: Carefully place the burger patties in the preheated air fryer basket. Lightly brush the top of each patty with ketchup or BBQ sauce for added flavor and moisture.
- Cook the burgers: Air fry the patties at 370°F for 5 minutes, then flip them over. Brush the other side of each patty with ketchup or BBQ sauce and continue cooking for an additional 3 to 6 minutes, or until the burgers reach your desired doneness.
- Add cheese and melt: If using cheese, place a slice on each cooked burger patty immediately after cooking. Return the patties to the switched-off air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt perfectly.
- Serve: Serve the burgers hot, ideally on buns with your favorite burger toppings and sides for a complete meal.
Notes
- For juicier patties, avoid overworking the meat while mixing.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach a safe internal temperature of 160°F for ground beef.
- Feel free to customize toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, or onions.
- If you don’t have dried parsley, you may omit it or substitute with fresh parsley finely chopped.
- Adjust cooking time slightly if your patties are thicker or thinner than 4½ inches in diameter.
- Use ketchup or BBQ sauce for brushing to impart additional flavor and help keep burgers moist.
