Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Thighs
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
Seasonings & Oil
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F to ensure it’s hot enough for a crispy skin exterior on the chicken thighs.
- Prepare seasoning mix: Combine white pepper, kosher salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Coat chicken thighs: Brush one side of each chicken thigh with olive oil, then rub a generous amount of the seasoning mixture onto that side of the chicken.
- Season the other side: Flip the chicken thighs and repeat the process by coating with remaining olive oil and rubbing on the remaining seasoning mixture.
- Prepare air fryer basket: Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking during cooking.
- Cook skin side up: Arrange the chicken thighs in the basket skin side up and cook for 15 minutes at 400°F.
- Flip and finish cooking: Flip the chicken thighs over so the skin side is down and cook an additional 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, ensuring they are fully cooked and juicy.
- Serve immediately: Remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and serve hot for the best flavor and crispy texture.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket so hot air can circulate effectively.
- You can substitute bone-in thighs with boneless but reduce cook time accordingly.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure safety and perfect doneness.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer for best results.
- Adjust seasoning amounts to taste or add other herbs like thyme or rosemary for variety.
