Description

This Apple Cider Margarita is a refreshing and festive twist on the classic cocktail, blending crisp apple cider with tequila, orange liqueur, and a hint of maple syrup. The rim is enhanced with a sweet and spicy cinnamon sugar coating, making it perfect for autumn gatherings or any time you crave a unique margarita experience.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Rim

  • Ground cinnamon, for the rim
  • Sugar, for the rim
  • Maple syrup, for the rim

For the Cocktail

  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 2 ounces El Mayor Tequila Blanco
  • 1/2 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: Mix together ground cinnamon and sugar in a small shallow dish. Dip the rim of your glass into maple syrup, then into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat it thoroughly. Set aside.
  2. Add Ice: Fill the prepared glass with ice cubes to chill the cocktail once poured.
  3. Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine the apple cider, El Mayor Tequila Blanco, Cointreau or triple sec, lime juice, and maple syrup. Add a few ice cubes to the shaker to chill the mixture as you shake.
  4. Shake and Strain: Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously until well mixed and chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy this crisp, flavorful Apple Cider Margarita.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by using more or less maple syrup based on your taste.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, increase the amount of ground cinnamon in the rim mixture.
  • Substitute fresh lime juice with bottled if fresh is not available, although fresh is recommended for best flavor.
  • The recipe can be doubled or tripled to serve more people, increasing ingredients proportionally.
  • If you prefer a less sweet cocktail, reduce the apple cider or maple syrup slightly.
