Description

This quick and easy Baked S’mores recipe offers a delicious twist on the classic campfire treat. Using the oven’s broiler, marshmallows are perfectly toasted and chocolate squares gently melted, all sandwiched between graham cracker squares for a gooey, irresistible dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate

  • 4 full size Hershey’s chocolate bars (divided into 16 pieces)

Crackers

  • 32 graham cracker squares (divided into two sets of 16)

Marshmallows

  • 32 full size marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to the broil setting at 525°F to prepare for toasting the marshmallows.
  2. Prepare the chocolate: Unwrap the chocolate bars and divide each bar into 4 pieces, totaling 16 chocolate pieces. Set aside.
  3. Arrange graham crackers: Line a large baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Lay out 16 graham cracker squares in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. Add marshmallows: Place 2 marshmallows on top of each graham cracker square.
  5. Toast marshmallows: Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven and broil the marshmallows for 1 to 3 minutes until they are golden brown. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  6. Remove from oven: Take the baking sheet out of the oven and turn off the broiler to ensure safety.
  7. Add chocolate squares: Place one piece of chocolate on top of each toasted marshmallow.
  8. Melt the chocolate: Return the baking sheet to the hot oven for about 30 seconds, just long enough to gently melt the chocolate.
  9. Top with remaining crackers: Remove the baking sheet and immediately top each melted chocolate s’more with the remaining 16 graham cracker squares.
  10. Serve warm: Serve the s’mores immediately while warm and gooey for the best experience.

Notes

  • Keep a close eye during broiling as marshmallows can burn very quickly.
  • Using the middle oven rack avoids the marshmallows burning too close to the broiler.
  • For easier eating, consider slightly crushing the top graham cracker square when serving.
  • These s’mores are best enjoyed fresh and warm due to the melted chocolate and marshmallow.
