Description

A delightful and easy-to-make Banana Split Fluff Salad that combines the creamy sweetness of banana cream pudding with fresh fruits, marshmallows, nuts, and whipped topping. Perfect for parties or a refreshing dessert, this no-bake salad offers a nostalgic twist on the classic banana split.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 (3.4 ounces) box banana cream instant pudding
  • 1 (20 ounces) can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 (10 ounces) jar maraschino cherries, drained, halved, and without stems
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • ½ cup miniature chocolate chips
  • 2 bananas, halved and sliced
  • 1 (8 ounces) container whipped topping (frozen, thawed)

Instructions

  1. Mix pudding and pineapple: In a large bowl, combine the banana cream instant pudding mix with the crushed pineapple including the juice. Stir well until the mixture is fully blended and smooth.
  2. Add fruits and mix-ins: Add the halved maraschino cherries, diced strawberries, miniature marshmallows, chopped nuts, miniature chocolate chips, and sliced bananas to the bowl. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  3. Fold in whipped topping: Fold in half of the thawed whipped topping into the mixture until it is evenly distributed. Then, add the remaining whipped topping and fold it in carefully until fully combined without deflating the fluffiness.
  4. Chill the salad: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and the texture to set.
  5. Serve: Before serving, garnish the salad with additional chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and cherries if desired for extra texture and visual appeal.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh bananas and strawberries to maintain natural flavor and texture.
  • This salad is best served chilled and consumed within 1-2 days for freshness.
  • You can substitute walnuts for pecans depending on preference or availability.
  • Ensure the whipped topping is fully thawed before folding to achieve the right fluffy consistency.
  • Optional: Add a splash of vanilla extract to the pudding mixture for enhanced flavor.
