Description

These Cherry Filled Crescent Rolls are a delightful and easy-to-make dessert featuring flaky crescent dough wrapped around sweet cherry pie filling. Finished with a simple vanilla glaze, they offer a perfect balance of buttery crust and fruity sweetness, ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 teaspoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles, ready for filling.
  3. Fill Rolls: Place about 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling at the wide end of each triangle. For best results, carefully roll the dough from the wide end to the tip, gently sealing the sides to prevent filling from leaking.
  4. Arrange on Sheet: Place the rolled crescents on the lined baking sheet with the point side down to keep their shape during baking.
  5. Add Toppings: Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar and cinnamon if using, to add a sweet and slightly spiced finish.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 11–13 minutes or until the crescent rolls turn golden brown and flaky.
  7. Make Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth to make a simple glaze.
  8. Serve: Once baked, let the crescent rolls cool slightly, then drizzle the glaze over the top before serving warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For a richer and creamier filling, add a small piece of cream cheese along with the cherry filling before rolling the crescent dough.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed warm but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days without losing freshness.
