Lasagna Noodles:

  • 9 lasagna noodles

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce

Ricotta Mixture:

  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cheese:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the meat sauce: In a skillet, sauté onion, garlic, and ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer.
  4. Make the ricotta mixture: Combine ricotta, egg, and Parmesan in a bowl.
  5. Assemble the lasagna: Layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish. Repeat layers twice, ending with mozzarella on top.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Rest and serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
