Description

A delightful and easy-to-make breakfast pizza featuring a crispy pizza dough base topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese, fresh cherry tomatoes, green onions, and perfectly baked eggs. Finished with fragrant basil and seasoned with sea salt and black pepper, this pizza offers a savory start to your day with a blend of fresh and comforting flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base

  • 1 pizza dough (enough for a 12-inch round)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cheeses & Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius) to ensure it is hot enough to crisp the pizza dough and cook the toppings perfectly.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a round shape of at least 12 inches in diameter. Place the dough on a pizza stone or on an oiled baking sheet to prevent sticking and promote even cooking.
  3. Add Olive Oil and Toppings: Brush the surface of the dough evenly with the olive oil. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses over the dough. Then distribute the halved cherry tomatoes and thinly sliced green onions evenly on top. Add half of the basil leaves over the toppings for an aromatic touch.
  4. Top with Eggs and Seasoning: Carefully crack the three eggs onto the pizza so they remain whole and spaced apart. Then sprinkle the sea salt and ground black pepper evenly over the entire pizza, seasoning both the eggs and the toppings.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes if you prefer runnier yolks, or up to 12 minutes if you want the eggs cooked through. The cheese should be melted and bubbly, and the crust golden and crisp.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and scatter the remaining basil leaves on top. Allow the pizza to rest for a few minutes to let the flavors meld and to make slicing easier. Serve warm and enjoy your flavorful breakfast pizza.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for the best flavor and texture.
  • To make the crust extra crispy, use a preheated pizza stone.
  • Adjust baking time depending on how runny or firm you like your eggs.
  • Substitute mozzarella with any melting cheese of your choice if desired.
  • Use fresh basil to add a fragrant finish just before serving rather than cooking it to preserve its flavor.
