Fruit and Cheese Kabobs Ingredients
- 1 cup cheese cubes (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Colby Jack, or Gouda)
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup blackberries
- 1/4 cup red or green grapes
- 15 fresh mint leaves
- Optional for serving: honey or whipped cream
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Wash all the fresh fruits thoroughly. Hull and halve the strawberries if they are large. Cut the cheese into bite-sized cubes if not already done.
- Assemble the kabobs: Using small skewers or toothpicks, thread one piece of each fruit (strawberry, blackberry, grape) along with a cube of cheese and a fresh mint leaf. Repeat the pattern until the skewer is filled as desired.
- Serve or store: Serve the kabobs immediately as a fresh snack or appetizer. Alternatively, cover and refrigerate for up to 1 day to keep them fresh. Optionally, drizzle with honey or add a dollop of whipped cream before serving for extra sweetness.
Notes
- Use firm, fresh cheese to prevent it from falling apart on the skewers.
- Fruits can be substituted based on seasonality or preference (e.g., pineapple, melon, blueberries).
- Best enjoyed the same day to maintain freshness and texture.
- For a different flavor profile, try adding a sprinkle of nuts or a balsamic glaze drizzle.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes before threading to prevent burning if grilling is desired.
