Description

These Grilled Beef & Broccoli Wraps combine tender, flavorful marinated flank steak with vibrant steamed broccoli, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla for a quick, satisfying meal perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Marinade

  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Vegetables & Wrapping

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (steamed or lightly sautéed)
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (optional, cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for added flavor)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture evenly over the flank steak and allow it to marinate for 15–30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
  2. Grill the Beef: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated steak for about 4–5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Once cooked, remove from heat, and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  3. Prepare the Broccoli: If not pre-cooked, steam or lightly sauté the broccoli florets until they are tender yet still bright green, usually about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Wraps: Lay the flour tortillas flat and evenly distribute sliced grilled beef, steamed broccoli, and the optional shredded cheese among them. Add a drizzle of soy sauce and lemon juice if you like to boost the flavors.
  5. Wrap and Serve: Fold in the sides of each tortilla and roll tightly to encase the filling. Serve immediately for best taste, or pack them tightly for a healthy meal on the go.

Notes

  • Marinating the beef overnight enhances the flavor profoundly but is optional if short on time.
  • Feel free to substitute the beef with another protein like chicken or tofu for variation.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas if you want to adjust for dietary preferences.
  • Omitting the cheese makes this recipe lower in fat and suitable for lactose-sensitive diets.
  • Soy sauce can be replaced with tamari for a gluten-free alternative.
