Ingredients
Scale
Beef Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
- 1 cup cooked white rice
Sauces and Cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1/4 cup chipotle sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Other
- 4 large flour tortillas
- Butter or oil for grilling
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 8–10 minutes. Drain any excess grease. Add the taco seasoning packet and 1/4 cup water, then simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Warm the Tortillas: Heat the flour tortillas on a dry skillet or microwave briefly to increase flexibility and prevent tearing during assembly.
- Assemble the Burrito: Lay a warmed tortilla flat and spread layers in this order: cooked white rice, seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, chipotle sauce, sour cream, then sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly on top.
- Grill the Burrito: Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese directly onto the skillet. Place the assembled burrito seam-side down onto the skillet on top of the cheese. Grill until the cheese melts and forms a crispy crust, about 3–4 minutes. Carefully flip the burrito and repeat the process on the other side to create a golden, cheesy crust.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, use butter instead of oil when grilling the burritos.
- To make it spicier, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling.
- Leftover burritos can be reheated in a skillet or oven to restore crispiness.
- Use low-fat cheese and sour cream to reduce calories if desired.
- Serve with guacamole or salsa for added flavor.
