Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp (16g) Olive Oil, divided
- 12 oz Broccoli Florets, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (97/3)
Sauce Ingredients
- 1/4 C (60g) Sweet Chili Sauce
- 2 Tbsp (42g) Honey
- 2-3 Tbsp (30-45g) Sriracha, to spice preference
- 2 Tbsp (30g) Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp (16g) Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
Instructions
- Cook broccoli: Heat 1/2 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
- Brown chicken: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil. Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until fully browned and cooked through.
- Prepare and add sauce: In a bowl, combine sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Pour this sauce mixture over the cooked ground chicken in the skillet and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Combine broccoli: Stir the cooked broccoli back into the skillet with the chicken and sauce, mixing well to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
- Serve hot: Remove from heat and serve the honey sriracha ground chicken and broccoli immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spiciness of the dish.
- Use fresh broccoli florets for best texture; frozen can be substituted but may result in a softer texture.
- Ground chicken lean ratio is recommended at 97/3 for a healthy low-fat option.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
