Description

This No-Bake Espresso Walnut Slice is a deliciously rich and easy-to-make dessert that combines the bold flavor of espresso with crunchy walnuts and chocolate. Perfect for coffee lovers, this no-bake treat requires no oven time and only a few simple ingredients, making it a quick and indulgent snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1 ½ cups crushed digestive biscuits or graham crackers
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Binding

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips, melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal of the slice later.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the crushed digestive biscuits, finely chopped walnuts, cocoa powder, instant espresso powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and mix well until the mixture is sticky and fully combined.
  4. Press Mixture: Firmly and evenly press the sticky mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it flat to create an even layer.
  5. Add Topping: Pour the melted dark chocolate chips over the pressed mixture and spread evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle the extra chopped walnuts on top as garnish.
  6. Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or until the slice is firm and set.
  7. Serve: Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the slice out of the pan, then cut into 16 squares and serve.

Notes

  • Store the slice in the refrigerator for up to one week to maintain freshness.
  • For longer storage, freeze the slices for up to one month; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
  • To intensify the espresso flavor, increase the instant espresso powder by one teaspoon.
