Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the egg, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Bake: Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool and Glaze: Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. For the optional glaze, whisk powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth and drizzle over cooled cookies.
