Ingredients
- 28 ounce can whole tomatoes (including juice)
- 1 small white onion, chopped
- 2-3 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 & 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cilantro leaves, loosely packed
- 3 tablespoons lime juice
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Place the whole tomatoes with their juices, chopped onion, seeded and chopped jalapeños, chopped garlic, ground cumin, sea salt, granulated sugar, cilantro leaves, and lime juice into a food processor or blender.
- Pulse Mixture: Pulse the mixture until the ingredients are finely chopped and well combined, creating a consistent salsa texture without over-blending it into a puree.
- Refrigerate to Marinate: Transfer the salsa into a bowl or container and refrigerate for one hour to allow the flavors to meld and develop fully before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the number of jalapeños according to your preferred heat level.
- For a chunkier salsa, pulse fewer times; for smoother, pulse longer.
- Use fresh lime juice for best flavor.
- Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
