Description

A delicious and easy-to-make layered dip featuring refried beans, spicy tomatoes, creamy Greek yogurt, fresh avocado, cheddar cheese, and colorful toppings. Perfect for parties and gatherings, this Seven Layer Dip combines vibrant flavors and textures in a single dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Layers

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

Avocado Layer

  • 3 medium avocados
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

Toppings

  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Diced roma tomatoes (about 1/2 cup)
  • Sliced black olives (about 1/4 cup)
  • Chopped green onions (about 1/4 cup)

Instructions

  1. Mix Bean and Tomato Layer: In a small bowl, combine the refried beans and Rotel tomatoes evenly. Spread this mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish to create the first layer.
  2. Prepare Yogurt Layer: In another bowl, mix the plain Greek yogurt with taco seasoning until well blended. Spread this yogurt mixture evenly over the bean and tomato layer.
  3. Mash Avocados: Peel and pit the avocados, then mash them with lime juice and garlic salt until smooth. Spread this creamy avocado mixture over the yogurt layer.
  4. Add Cheese and Toppings: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the avocado layer. Then add sliced black olives, diced roma tomatoes, and chopped green onions as the final colorful toppings.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the layered dip for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld before serving. Serve chilled with tortilla chips for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add taco seasoning to the Greek yogurt layer.
  • Make sure to chill the dip well before serving to set the layers.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with a Mexican cheese blend if desired.
  • Fresh lime juice helps preserve the vibrant color of the avocado layer.
  • Perfect for parties, potlucks, or game day snacking.
