For the cupcakes:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as directed)
For the frosting:
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream

- Food coloring (optional for frosting tinting)
Additional:
- 12 mini chocolate bunny candies
- Pastel sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package directions.
- Bake Cupcakes: Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cupcakes cool completely.
- Add Bunny Surprise: Use a small knife or cupcake corer to cut a small hole in the center of each cupcake. Gently press one mini chocolate bunny candy into each hole, then replace the top.
- Make Frosting: Beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in the vanilla and heavy cream. Beat until light and fluffy. Tint with food coloring if desired.
- Frost Cupcakes: Frost the cupcakes using a piping bag or spatula. Top with pastel sprinkles for a festive touch.
