Description

This Taco Pizza combines the convenience of crescent roll dough with flavorful taco-seasoned ground beef and fresh toppings to create a delicious and easy-to-make meal. Perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings, this recipe features a creamy base, savory beef, and fresh veggies all in one pie.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls

Base Topping

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream

Meat Topping

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning (1 envelope)

Additional Toppings

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the crescent roll crust.
  2. Prepare Crust: Unroll the crescent dough and press it out onto a large ungreased cookie sheet. Pinch the perforations together thoroughly to seal the dough into one solid crust. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the crust turns a light golden brown.
  3. Make Cream Cheese Mixture: While the crust bakes, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl. Whisk them until the mixture is completely smooth. Set aside for later use.
  4. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and ¼ cup of water. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to blend flavors.
  5. Assemble the Pizza: Once the crust is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for 3-5 minutes. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust. Then layer the seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and sliced cherry tomatoes evenly on top.
  6. Serve: Cut the pizza into 8 pieces and serve immediately. Alternatively, refrigerate to enjoy later.

Notes

  • You can substitute the shredded lettuce with shredded cabbage for extra crunch.
  • For a spicier kick, add jalapeño slices before serving.
  • Use low-fat cream cheese and sour cream to reduce calories.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
