This irresistibly fresh mojito recipe is the perfect refreshing cocktail for summer weekends, featuring a classic blend of mint, lime, white rum, and soda water balanced with just the right touch of sweetness.
Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 10 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
- 1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- 60ml white rum
- 120ml soda water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Muddle Mint and Lime: Place the mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush them together to release the mint oils and lime juice.
- Add Remaining Lime and Sugar: Add the remaining lime wedges and sugar, then muddle again to thoroughly combine the flavors.
- Fill with Ice: Fill the glass with ice cubes to chill and dilute the drink slightly.
- Add Rum and Soda Water: Pour the white rum over the ice, then top off with soda water for fizz and lightness.
- Stir and Garnish: Stir well to mix all flavors uniformly. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter mojito, add more sugar or simple syrup to taste.
- Use crushed ice for a more traditional mojito texture.
- To make a mocktail version, omit the rum and add extra soda water or a splash of lime sparkling water.
