Scale
Vegetables & Herbs
- 8-9 tomatillos (husked, rinsed, and quartered)
- 2 jalapeño peppers (stems removed)
- ½ cup cilantro leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ onion (sliced)
- 1 avocado (peeled and diced)
Additional Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare and process ingredients. Add the tomatillos, jalapeños, cilantro, garlic, and sliced onion to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse for about 5 seconds until the mixture is chunky but well combined, ensuring a balanced texture for the salsa.
- Add avocado and season. Transfer the processed mixture to a bowl, then gently stir in the diced avocado, fresh lime juice, and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly to combine all flavors and adjust salt if needed to enhance the salsa’s brightness.
- Serve and enjoy. Use your Tomatillo Avocado Salsa immediately with chips, tacos, taquitos, or your favorite Mexican dishes for a fresh and zesty accompaniment.
Notes
- For a milder salsa, remove seeds from jalapeños before blending.
- The salsa is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
- If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a little water or more lime juice while blending.
- Use ripe but firm avocados to maintain texture in the salsa.
