Cookie Dough

Caramel Topping
- 15 ounce bag Kraft caramel candies
- 2 tablespoons evaporated milk
Chocolate Topping
- 2 cups Ghirardelli melting chocolate wafers
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the cookie base.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, add the softened butter and powdered sugar. Use an electric mixer to cream these ingredients together until light and fluffy.
- Mix Dough: Add vanilla extract, flour, and salt to the creamed butter mixture. Mix until a well combined dough forms.
- Prepare Work Surface: Sprinkle flour on a clean cutting board or countertop to prevent sticking during rolling.
- Roll and Cut Dough: Roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a small round cookie cutter to cut out individual cookies.
- Bake Cookies: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the cut cookies on it. Bake in the preheated oven for 14-16 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool completely.

- Apply Caramel: Using a spoon, generously scoop melted caramel onto each cooled cookie, spreading it evenly from edge to edge. Let the caramel set at room temperature.
- Melt Chocolate: Place Ghirardelli chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stirring and repeating in short intervals as necessary until fully melted and smooth.
- Top with Chocolate: Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the set caramel layer on each cookie. Allow the chocolate to fully set before serving and enjoying your Twix Cookies.
